This would be funny except that it is MY email address that is being used as the sender however it isn't coming from me or my computer (yes, I've checked).
I've also had my account suspended by my ISP which is a real drag.
Just wanted to let you know that it is NOT MY FAULT.
I have seen that happen, where I suddenly get a flurry of bounce messages, because a spammer has used a company email address for one of the from/reply addresses and the email is addressed to a non-existant account.
You make a good point that I need to remind everyone that email is from an age where everyone on the internet could be trusted. Thus, there was no reason to not trust the headers of an email.
I saw this in play a long time ago, when I got an email from santa.claus@north.pole, asking to return the loni anderson blowup doll as I was not the good little boy as claimed.
We must only use the headers for reference, and do not trust anything that came from beyond the last hop.
